Cosmetology at Okaloosa Technical CollegeThe Cosmetology program is a sequence of courses that prepare high school students for a career in the field of cosmetology after graduation. The program emphasises training on safety, first aid, sanitation, bacteriology, state law, rules and regulations, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, skin, hair, nail diseases and disorders, hair treatment, manipulations, hair shaping, hairstyling, artificial hair, hair coloring, hair lightening, artificial hair, braiding, chemical relaxer, reception, sales, salon management, math, reading, writing, computer skill, employability skills, work and salon ethics.

Students enrolled in the Digital Design Program pursue rewarding careers in a variety of positions, including:

  • Cosmetologist
  • Barber
  • Skin Care Specialist/Estheticians
  • Manicurist and Pedicurist
  • Hairdressers and Hair Stylists
  • Nail Technicians

This course is designed to give students an opportunity to apply training required to pass the Florida State Board examination and meet entry-level employment requirements.
