Da Vinci Surgical Robot Demonstration at Crestview HS

Kelly Bergman, Director with the North Okaloosa Physician’s Group, was instrumental in bringing the robot to Crestview High School. Dr. Daran Mason, North Okaloosa Medical Center, who graduated from Crestview High School in 1992 and recently returned to the area, shared his skill with the robot to the students.

“It’s a great opportunity to have that cross-curriculum with health sciences and robotics!” said Daniel Sligar, Applied Cybersecurity & Applied Robotics, Crestview High School.

With the da Vinci Surgical System, surgeons operate through just a few small  incisions. The da Vinci System features a magnified 3D high-definition vision system and tiny wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human hand.

As a result, da Vinci enables surgeons to operate with enhanced vision, precision, and control. The da Vinci System represents the latest in surgical and robotics technologies.
