Skills to Build / Carpentry

Carpenters are involved in many different types of construction trades.  Students in the Middle School Carpentry program will be prepared for a career in the building trades through a combination of classroom theory and hands-on experience. Students gain hands-on experience using hand tools, portable power tools, and other equipment commonly used in carpentry along with using a variety of building materials. Students develop the skills needed for rough framing, roof framing, and exterior and interior finish work. In addition, students will gain experience in blueprint reading, math, and estimating.

Being involved in the Carpentry program provides students real-world knowledge that puts them on a path to a very rewarding and fulfilling career in the construction industry.
