Emergency Medical Responder

Emergency Medical Responders are in greater demand than ever before.  Today’s emergency medical responders provide initial care to sick or injured persons or as ambulance drivers and attendants.  Students are trained with the knowledge and skills necessary to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until more medical help can arrive.  EMR students will learn lifesaving care critical to patients who access the EMS system, as well as the skills necessary to assist higher-level personnel at the scene of emergencies and during transport.

Students enrolled in the Emergency Medical Responder Program pursue rewarding careers in a variety of positions, including:

  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • Paramedic
